Membership of the Cape Winemakers Guild represents some of the best winemakers in South Africa. The Guild is committed to transformation in the South African Wine Industry, and the Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Development Trust has raised over R2m since inception for bursuries and aid to previously disadvantaged winemakers. The Protege programme sees aspiring winemakers from previously disadvantaged backgrounds mentored by members of the Guild for a two-year period, with ultimate aim of these winemakers one day producing wines worthy of inclusion in the Guild.
